Larry Swanson, George Webb, Paul LeMond, Mark Schoch, Sarah Brown
and Misty Gardner.
- The new schools participating this year were
introduced: Jimtown, Northwood, Chatard and Morristown.
- Individual school photos do not need to
be sent to the IBCA office. Pictures will be taken at Semi-State
for the State Program.
- The sites were selected for Regional,

Mike Aulbys Arrowhead Bowl, Lafayette
Laurel Lanes, Washington
Stardust Bowl II, Merrillville
Semi-State Sport Bowl, Indianapolis
Chippewa Bowl, South Bend
State Finals Western Bowl, Indianapolis
- The ticket prices will remain the same as last
year for all playoff events:
Sectional - $2 student rate, $4 adult
rate
Regional - $3 student rate, $5 adult rate
Semi-State - $6 student rate, $8 adult rate
State - $10 flat rate, tickets will go on sale at the
Semi-State event
- For the Regional, Semi-State and State events,
the team event will be in the morning (9:00 a.m.) and the singles
event will be in the afternoon (2:00 p.m.).
- The Budget for 2004 was approved by the
Advisory Board.
- A Strategic Plan was developed for the next 3-5
years.
- Discussion was made regarding changing the
current High School Bowling season to a fall season. The Advisory
Board recommended to the IBCA Board that it not be changed to a
fall season. The High School Bowling Advisory Board stated the
following reasons for their decision:
- Until it is IHSAA sanctioned, the season
should not be changed. Once the IHSAA sanction opportunity
arises, we could then move them to the season that best fits
their schedule.
- In order to keep growing the program, the
start-up time is needed to gain the student interest.
- There was discussion about how to police
academics. The Advisory Board requested that the IBCA office
contact the IHSAA on how they police academics.
|
--The IBCA contacted the IHSAA and each
school is required to send in grades by a date that they
select for each sport to the IHSAA office. If academics change
between that date and the Finals for that sport, then those
grades are sent into the IHSAA office at that time. |
The next meeting is scheduled
for
Wednesday, January 21, 2004 at 10:00 a.m.
at the IBCA office, Indianapolis.

The Advisory
Board welcomed Jeanne Klescewski, of High School Bowling USA.

The Board changed part B of the rules under Sanctioning
of Teams, Clubs, & Events.

conference play is considered a standard YABA Travel League.
Any competition outside of
conference and sectional play should be processed as a YABA
Tournament.
B.
Discussed the playoffs and made changes to the format
of regionals, semi- state,
and state (See Tournament Rules Sheet for details).
-
High
School Bowling Posters
A.
It was decided that the posters would be mailed to the
conference coordinators and they can distribute them to the coaches
and centers.
-
Strategic
Plan/Gaining Participation
A.
The areas of interest in gaining participation were
split up among conference coordinators.
B.
It was decided that they could gain help from others
to try and meet with all the schools and centers necessary.
C.
A plan to meet with an interested center was
discussed, and also inviting other centers and schools around that
area to the meeting.
