2006 IHSB ALL-STATE CRITERIA

Point Criteria Explanation:

  1. Baseline Average- The baseline average will be 190 for boys and 170 for girls. Two points were given for each 10 pins over that average, but there will be no subtraction of points for under those averages. (Boys 190-199=2pts, 200-209=4pts, 210-219=6pts, 220-229=8pts, 230+=10pts. Girls 170-179=2pts, 180-189=4pts, 190-199=6pts, 200-209=8pts, 210+=10pts.) All averages used must be based on a minimum of 12 games.

  2. Conference Average- The individual bowler will be awarded points based on how his/her average ranks against other bowlers in that conference. Example: The first ranked person will receive 30 points, and the second with 29 points and the lowest ranked bowler will receive 1 point. (Bowlers must meet baseline average to receive points.) Again, all averages used must be based on a minimum of 12 games.

  3. High Game/Series Bonus – 3 points will be given for every honor score. Boys 275/500 or better, Girls 245/440 or better. The series scores must be recorded on the same day. These points will be awarded for conference play only, tournament scores don’t qualify.

  4. Playoff Scores- Using singles sectional, regional, semi-state and state qualifying scores and places, advancing bowlers will receive points (The 1st place will receive 10 points, 2nd place 9pts, etc. All advancing bowlers will receive at least 1 point.) If they do not advance, they will receive zero points.

  1. There will be All-State Teams for boys and girls.

  2. Points will determine the All-State Teams and their placements. Code of conduct violations will be considered in selection and could mean disqualification.

  3. All student athletes meeting criteria are eligible (multiple athletes from a school could make these teams).

  4. This award is open to all bowlers in the Freshman through Senior class (Varsity players only) who meet criteria.

  5. There will be a First Team, Second Team and Honorable Mention (5 members on each team) for boys and girls, provided a sufficient number of eligible applications received.
